Adding a custom monogram to your promotional materials is easy with Microsoft Word. You can use it to create business cards, add it to your own letterhead, and even include it on the thank you cards you send to clients. This is a great way to brand yourself personally and professionally.

A Monogram Helps Brand Yourself as a Blogger or Business Person

Bloggers love using monograms in the logos they create for their websites. It’s a simple way to create an online presence and one that people know at a glance. If you’re looking for a fast and effective way to put your mark on the printed and digital materials you provide to clients and customers, a monogram will do the trick.

To Create a Monogram in Word You Must First Download to Access the Software

The first thing you’re going to need to do is download Microsoft Office for your computer if you don’t already have it on there. Software Keep offers different versions of the popular software suite available for digital download. You’ll have access to it within minutes after receiving an email with instructions on how to initiate the download.

    Open and Minimize Microsoft Office

Once you have your download of Microsoft Office for Mac or PC ready, open it. Minimize the window and visit dafont.com to download the monogram kk font. It’s free but you will need to save the file to your hard drive. By double clicking or right clicking on the file name, you’re given the option to open it.

Download the Free Monogram Font Kit

You’ll need to do that to install the font so that it shows up in MS Office. You’ll see the monogram kk folder come up and need to open it. Then you’ll have the option to Print or Install the TrueType font.

Install the Font and Check to Make Sure That It’s Available as an Option in Word

Click Install and let it do its thing. Once installed you’ll have the option of selecting it in MS Word when you look at the different fonts available. Before you start creating your monogram, go ahead and look to see that monogram kk installed correctly without a glitch.

Select the Background Color You Want to Use

Choose a background color by going to the Page Layout tab and choosing Page Color. If you want extra color, you can add a border by using the Shapes tool. You’ll need to go to the Insert tab, select shapes, and then decide which outline you like best from the list of options.

Draw the Shape and Select the Line Weight You Like Best

Then, draw the shape the size you want and then select the line weight from the Drawing Tools tab.  By selecting No Fill, you’ll have just a colored outline but no fill on top of the background color. This lets you put the monogram in the center of the shape.

Get Ready to Create Your Monogrammed Word Art

To do that, you’ll need to go to the Insert tab and choose the option that reads Word Art. Start with the last name initial first and choose monogram kk from the drop down font menu. Next, you’ll want to change the shape, size, and color of the letter.

To start, select Text Wrapping under the Word Art Tools tab. You’ll also want to select In Front of Text because it lets you reposition the letter on the page. Under the Word, Out tab select a straight line called Plain Text.

You’ll be given the option to position, resize, and even change the outline and fill of the letter by selecting the Word Art tab. You’ll do the same steps for all of the letters you want to include in your monogram. Keep in mind that you’ll want to put your first initial first, your last initial in the middle in a bigger size, and your middle initial last.

Don’t forget to save your work. If you don’t, you might lose everything you done. Periodically, stop what you’re doing and save the latest version of the file.
